What she thoughtPerfect in every way. Disney thinks of every last detail. They literally had someone come steam my dress before I stepped into it. How's that for thinking of everything?
Surprising to my friends and family, Disney was not my first choice for our wedding. I have a few control issues and just thought I'd do everything myself. The more I researched , the more I realized how much that was to take on. So, I gave the guys at Disney's Fairytale Weddings a call and the rest is history. You can make the entire experience as elaborate and detailed or sweet and simple as you would like. With your personal coordinator's help you will choose all the perfect details for your day. Then, you can sit back, relax and let someone else do all of the work. I had realized how overwhelming planning a wedding could be and so I took advantage of letting someone else do ALL the worrying and work. I wanted to tell Disney what I wanted and then forget about it. I even told my coordinator that if a decision needed to be made on my wedding day, just make a decision and go for it. She had my permission and blessing. The thing I hate to see most on someone else's wedding day is everyone coming to the bride with questions, where does this go? where's that thing? what do you want to do with this? The poor bride is stressed out enough without all of that! During the entire experience my wedding coordinator only asked me two questions. 1. We had no book for the guests to sign. So she said "You have no book for your guests, would you like me to get you one?" I said yes and the book appeared. 2. My two youngest cousins were more interested in what everyone else was having for dinner than the kids meals they were served. "Would you like us to serve them with everyone else?" "Yes, please". Done. Unlike so many brides, I am able to remember all of the wonderful things about this day because I wasn't completely stressed out. Incredible attention to detail of the Disney florists , mouthwatering food, beautiful surroundings, impeccable service... the list goes on and on and on of all the reasons a Disney wedding is the way to go. |
What he thoughtBest day of my life - hands down! Disney's brilliant event-planning fairy-dusters worked it out in a big way.
I totally danced with Minnie Mouse. It wasn't good dancing. Pathetic really. But I shook it up a few times and Minnie's got moves. Don't worry dear, you have nothing to be jealous about. Besides, you and Mickey were cuttin' a rug too! I'm pretty sure he stole a kiss too as I distincly remember Minnie's hands-on-hips confrontations in response to the two-timing during the two-steppin'. Pavilion - amazing. Carriage - surreal. Food - delectable. Atmosphere - indescribable. Guests - warm and melodious. If ever there was a day on which the universe shed its favor, it was March 10, 1998. I'll never forget it and I would have to imagine paradise being a little like mixing our wedding with Groundhog Day -- and how cool would it be if Bill Murray was there?!!! I have only one regret about this day and it is perhaps one of my greatest embarrassments in life -- but I have a powerful excuse. I forgot my vows. Tega and I put off penning our nuptials 'til the very last minute. I have never been good at remembering anything, much less memorizing. Nevertheless, I had them down -- or so I thought. When the doors opened and there she was ... Well -- it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen and for the next twenty minutes -- she was all I knew... Maybe I'll do it again one day and I'll get it right and Tim, Kenny and Jimmy will be there and it will be good. |
Here are some pics from our wedding. Remember, they are BD (before digital), so excuse the quality of some.
