The Marriott Savannah Riverfront offered us everything we wanted in our latest stay in Savannah - location, location, location. It's conveniently located in the heart of historic downtown Savannah, right on the river. We had a great view from the balcony of our room. The port is just upstream and it was amazing to see the huge ships going right by your room!
One of the best things about the hotel was the convenient of onsite parking without having to wait on the valet to get your car. You have the option to valet if you'd like of course but several hotel in downtown only have the option valet (unless you park on the street). It was nice to be able to come and go a little more quickly. The next best thing? The large bathroom! I was also impressed with how quiet the hotel was. I saw lots of kids in the hotel and even heard them in their rooms as I was walking by buy once in my room I didn't hear them at all. We have stayed at some of the older hotels in the area before and insulation and soundproofing obviously wasn't an invention when the squares were being built :-) If you need more peace and quiet they also have an onsite spa, Magnolia Spa. If you prefer to spend your down time working out then they have you covered as well with their fitness center. You'll need to eat. We had a delicious room service breakfast but the restaurant downstairs, Blue, offers several different breakfast options (continental, buffet, american) as well as lunch and dinner. If you'd like to take in the great cuisine that Savannah has to offer there are lots of restaurants within walking distance and even more just a short cab ride away. If you didn't make plans ahead of time for things to do during your stay then visit the concierge in the lobby and let them do your planning for you. They can arrange trolley rides, carriage tours, make dinner reservations, etc. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly, just as you'd expect in Savannah! Make your reservations for your stay at the Marriott Savannah Riverfront here.

On our recent trip to Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island Jason and I stayed at the Residence Inn. I love the fact that all of the rooms are suites so you have the freedom of making your own food and you also have tons of space!
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the beach but if you don't want to get sandy they also have a great pool area. In addition to being conveniently located near the beach, they are also just a short drive to the historic downtown area and Fort Clinch. A hot breakfast is free each morning and they even have an evening social with complimentary wine and beer. Ask anyone at the desk for information and they'll be happy to tell you about recreation and dining nearby. You'll have lots of both to choose from. There's golfing, biking, boating, fishing, surfing, kayaking, horseback riding, carriage tours, river cruises or just good old fashioned chillin' out on the beach. The staff, both prior to arriving and once we checked in, were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean, which is saying a lot considering the fact that they are so close to the beach. Complimentary parking is available for guests of the hotel. And if you can't live without your wifi connection, well, it's free too. If you are looking for a nice weekend staycation, try out Amelia Island and stay at the Residence Inn. Book your stay here. We got the pleasure of staying at the Disneyland Hotel on our Honeymoon to Disneyland Paris. Everything about this hotel is fantastic. The look, the views, the location, the service, the Cast, all fantastic. The Disneyland Hotel is located at the front of Disneyland and actually makes up the gate of the park. Some of the rooms, like the one we stayed in, have views over the Magic Kingdom. If you are looking for the ultimate in Disney magic make sure you stay here when you visit Disneyland Paris. Book your stay at the Disneyland Hotel or just get more info on Disneyland Paris at their website - Click here I had lived in Charlotte for six years and always wanted an opportunity to visit theBallantyne Hotel & Lodge. I had driven by it many times and couldn’t help but notice the spacious grounds and the beautiful green golf courses. FINALLY my company decided to have a corporate event there so I was able to attend and spend a night at what is now my favorite resort in Charlotte.
The resort is a member of the Luxury Collection by Starwood Hotels and is also recognized by Forbes as a Four-Star and AAA Four-diamond category hotel. I am not surprised at all! The spa is incredible. If you live in Charlotte it is a great girls outing to go to the spa for the day. If you are traveling to Charlotte on business it is an ideal place to hold your meetings or corporate events. I have several friends who have been fortunate enough to have weddings at the Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge and the pictures are beautiful. If you are looking for a place to hold your wedding and / or wedding reception definitely look in to this location. Your guest will be in heaven with the indoor and outdoor pools, spa, fitness center and championship PGA golf course. It is very easy to access being just 18 miles from the Charlotte airport. and very close to major shopping areas like Southpark Mall. Southpark Mall has more than 100 shops including Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. Book your stay at the Ballantyne by clicking here. I wanted to share with you one of my favorite hotels in Washington DC, The W Hotel. When thinking of a place to stay while in our nation’s capital ….well The W had me at ”flirty, fun, fresh experience” !! And it is that! It has incredible views of the White House and other historical landmarks like the Washington Monument. You need to experience this if you are in DC. FYI they have some special rates coming up on the following dates: November 1-7,17-25 and December 16-30. The most appealing thing about this hotel besides the view is the fact that is is within a close walk of some major DC landmarks. Basically, you’ll be in the perfect spot for experiencing all that DC has to offer. Check out the incredible view of the Monument and of the White House from the P.O.V. roof terrace. Even if you don’t stay overnight at the W you really need to experience the view from P.O.V. For more reviews on P.O.V check out what my friend wrote on her blog about our experience there http://www.coastaljetsetter.com/5/post/2012/10/pov-w-hotel-washington-dc.html The overall service was more than we could have expected. Their description of the experience is spot on! “We cannot tell a lie—with 317 rooms featuring the signature W bed, fully wired technology, fabulous in-room entertainment, delightful Munchie Box and our Whatever/Whenever® service, the First Amendment of luxury, you’ll never want to leave.” – W Hotel The rooms were SWEET/SUITE (ha) and I have to point out the interesting selection in the “munchie box”. My only complaint is that there was only one lolly pop so my friend and I had to fight over it! Last but not least they offer the Acura experience……….and what an
experience!! They call it their “Whatever/Whenever Service”. The Concierge set us up with a complimentary ride to dinner in their Acura MDX. They want you to “arrive in style”! Oh wait…….one more thing! How cool is this………they even provide your pets with posh service! Love their “P.A.W. – Pets are Welcome” Program. P.A.W. – Pets Are Welcome™ Woof/Meow! Who loves your pet? We think the furry friend you love should travel in luxury with you. That’s why Pets Are Welcome™. We stayed at the Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village on our trip to St. Augustine. We don't golf but if golfing is your thing, this is a great resort for you. It's right in the middle of World Golf Village conveniently located right off of I-95. The room was very spacious and had an extra large bathroom which is always a super bonus! The best part was that they have Aveda amenities in their bathrooms!
The resort boasts two championship golf courses, a billiard room and a fitness center or you can be lazy and chill by the seasonally heated outdoor pool. When you are ready to head to St. Augustine just jump on the complimentary shuttle. If you like the independence of driving your own car that's easy too, it's only 15 min to downtown St. Augustine. It wasn't the closest resort to St. Augustine but they had great rates and we knew we would have a nice room since it was a Marriott hotel. I had stayed in St. Augustine before and found a lot of the hotels were old and it showed. I was happy we had a great room and great service even if it meant an extra 15 min in the car. Even if you aren't headed to St. Augustine for the day, you just need a place to rest your head on I-95, this is a great hotel to stay at. Our first visit to Disneyland Paris we stayed on property at the Disneyland Hotel. That hotel was out of our budget this time so we had to find an alternative. We found the perfect one in the Dream Castle Hotel. The Dream Castle Hotel is located just outside the perimeter of Disneyland property. If you look at the map below, the big circle is Disneyland property and the pin is the Dream Castle Hotel. This hotel offered great rates and an unbelievably close proximity to the parks. They also provided us with a pass for free parking at Disneyland. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are two restaurants at the hotel. San Souci serves a breakfast buffet from 7am to 11am and The Musketeer's restaurant serves French and European cuisine. You also have the choice of room service. If you are exhausted from running around in the parks all day the visit the Asian Villa Spa at the hotel. Guests enjoy access to the heated indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam bath and fitness room on the garden floor. In the Thai rooms and Asian Spa Villas full body massages, facials and other spa services are offered. They use SkinCeuticals products in their services. We had way more space in our room than two people could ever need!! It was great. If you've got kids, these bunk beds will be a hit. The bathrooms were spacious as well. So, if you're looking for another option than the Disneyland Hotels make sure to check out The Dream Castle Hotel or it's sister hotel The Magic Circus located next door. Check out their website for more information. I moved to Florida from Savannah, Ga. Anytime I tell someone that they inevitable say "ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh I loooooooooooooooove Savannah!!!!!" Quite often they ask for advice on where to stay. A lot of people like to stay at a B&B when visiting Savannah but if you are looking for something a little more modern but still full of charm try The Westin on the river. The Westin is one of the newest resorts lining the Savannah Riverfront. One thing that's cool about it is that it's across the river from River Street. When you look our of your river view window you actually see the river and Savannah's historic district. Don't worry about driving; the ferry will take you back and forth across the river. Our room delivered what I've come to expect from Westin - super comfy beds and a spacious bathroom.
If golf is your thing then this is the place for you. The resort boasts an 18-hole championship course designed by Robert Cupp and Sam Snead. The course was rated in the Top 10 New Places to Play Golf by Golf & Travel magazine. Give the Heavenly Spa a try while you are there. Westin's Heavenly Spa has been named a "Top Resort Spa" for two years running by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine. The resort also features three dining and beverage outlets available to hotel guests :vibrant Aqua Star Restaurant, the Starbucks Café at Midnight Sun and the classic yet relaxed Champions Grill. So, the next time you are headed to the heart of the south give the Westin Savannah Harbor a try. Book your stay here. While in Schwangau, Germany we stayed at Hotel Müller and I highly recommend it. We stayed right at the base of the road leading up to Neuschwanstein Castle. The horse drawn carriages that will take you up to the castle pick you up directly in front of the hotel. It couldn’t be more convenient. What an unbelievable view we had! From our balcony the view to the left was Neuschwanstein Castle and to the right was a breathtaking view of the Alps and Alpsee. Hotel Müller also has a restaurant on site so breakfast and dinner were very convenient. You can see our balcony in the pic below. It’s the one with the columns on the second floor. We had a very nice room with a spacious bathroom. You can see how close we were to one of the two castles. The other castle, Hohenschwangau, was even closer! This little village is just amazing. We were there on a great weekend, not too crowded. The middle of summer can bring long lines so plan accordingly. We purchased our castle tour tickets online prior to our trip. This can save you a lot of time in line. We were even able to pick the time we wanted to go on the tours. And, best of all, the staff at Hotel Müller got our tickets delivered to the hotel for us. Pre-order your tour tickets for both castles and the museum here. The staff at the hotel all spoke English and were so friendly. This is a great place to stay! Book your trip to Bavaria immediately!!!! It’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen. You’ll love it too. Book your Hotel Müller stay here.
As you stumble back to your room in Brussels, too full of Belgian beer, Belgian chocolate, Belgian waffles and pomme frittes to hold up your own body weight.... you'll be thinking "thank goodness we stayed here". Le Méridien Brussels is just a short walk away from Grand Place. This hotel has amazing views ranging from Spain Place to the famous Grand Place. Our room was really nice and spacious. Our bathroom was huge and had a shower and a large tub. It was a very modern hotel that sat right next to history. The multi-lingual staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel was very clean. If you don't receive a complementary breakfast with your room (dependent on your room type, status with Starwood hotels, etc) you may add on a breakfast package or just head down to the street. Within minutes you'll be at a waffle stand or waffle restaurant! We were only in Brussels for a day so I can't tell you too many things about the city but I can tell you that Belgium was a pleasant surprise. We also went to the cities of Brugge and Ghent and they were beautiful. I have to go back one day and spend some more time here. I need to do a lot of scientific research to find the best piece of chocolate in Belgium. These are the sacrifices I am willing to make to pass good information on to you!! Visit the Le Méridien Brussels site and book your stay here. Here is a view from our hotel room of The Grand Place in Brussels - |
